Bronxville is leading the way in clean energy with a solar energy installation on the rooftop of the Department of Public Works!
The DPW building is now NET ZERO generating all its energy from renewable sources – that means zero fuel oil, natural gas or harmful emissions along with long-term cost savings. The solar panels also generate a significant portion of Village Hall’s electric needs.
This initiative is funded through grants awarded under NYSERDA’s Clean Energy Communities Program. The installation will help Bronxville meet its target of reducing emissions from municipal operations by 40% by 2030, as outlined in the Climate Action Plan for Municipal Operations adopted in November 2023.
