Q: What level charger are the Bronxville EV chargers?
A: All Bronxville EV chargers are Level 2 chargers.
Q: How many EV chargers are in Bronxville and where are they located?
A: There are three stations in total with a capacity for six vehicles. The chargers are located at the Parkway Road parking lot and Kensington garage. Two additional stations are in process of being installed.
Q: What do I need to get started?
A: A Village of Bronxville permit and a Chargepoint account are required to connect and charge your vehicle.
Q: How do I obtain a permit and how much does it cost?
A: Electric Vehicle parking permits are issued by the Village Parking Office located on the first floor of Village Hall, 200 Pondfield Road, Bronxville, NY 10708, between 9:00AM and 4:00PM Monday through Friday.
The annual fee of $375, a permit will be issued for the term effective May 1st through April 30th.
Q: What does the Village permit include?
A: The Permit authorizes parking between 8:00AM – 3:00PM Monday through Friday. The charging station is available for public use after 3:00PM on weekdays and all day Saturday and Sunday.
The Village EV permit fee is a pre-payment of electric costs and parking meter fees.
Parking will not be allowed at the charging station from 2:00AM – 6:00AM regardless if you are in possession of an overnight permit.
Public parking requires an hourly payment at the station (to cover electric and meter fees) and vehicles are required to move upon completion of the charge.
Q: Am I only allowed to park in the EV charging spot when charging?
A: There is no time limit imposed if you have a permit, but it is appreciated if you move your car after charging for others to use the charger. Non-permit users can only park while charging. The Village has implemented an ‘overcharge’ penalty that will kick in after your vehicle is fully charged, drivers given 15 minute grace period to move their car.
